Introduce yourself to the camera:
“Hi, I’m First Last, and I’m a junior at Marshfield High School.”
After introducing him/herself to the camera, the subject should simply have a conversation with the interviewer (who should be standing JUST off to the side of the camera), so the person being filmed is no longer speaking to the camera, they’re looking just off camera.
ANSWER ALL QUESTIONS IN THE FORM OF A SENTENCE!
QUESTION 1:
What are you involved with at MHS (sports, activities, clubs, music, class office, etc.)?
(As an example of what it means to answer in the form of a sentence, the interview subject should begin his/her answer with a phrase like, “Things I’m involved with at MHS include…” or “At MHS, I’m a part of…” etc.)
QUESTION 2:
What are you involved with outside of school (church groups, dance, hobbies, jobs, etc.)?
QUESTION 3:
Who is your hero, and why do you admire him/her?
QUESTION 4:
What is a hardship that you have been through that was a defining experience in your life (a challenge that helped shape who you are)?
QUESTION 5:
What is a highlight in your life, something that stands out as a proud moment for you?
QUESTION 6:
What is a goal you have for your future?
Interview Grade FCAs (100 points):
20 Dressed appropriately (not a t-shirt or sweatshirt)
20 Annunciates clearly, no mumbling, speaks with reasonable volume
20 Answers questions in the form of a sentence
20 Elaborates answers beyond bare minimum
20 Brings upbeat, positive energy to the conversation with interviewer
Editing Grade FCAs (100 points):
30 Hits 1:15-1:30 time range
25 Inserts a background chroma key (doesn't just leave the green screen background)
20 Includes at least one signature editing decision (outtake cutaway, voice overlap, etc)
25 Final product offers a revealing snapshot portrait of subject
